Vague movie. I couldn't really follow it. It is a timetravel movie. A guy returns 8 times to a wedding, every time he has 11 minutes to do things. I will probably watch this film again if I can find it, but then with subtitles, some of the America accent where hard to understand (by me anyway) which adds to the vagueness of the movie.

description: Timetraveling, future guy, wedding party, 11 minutes staying
(Geoffrey): (rating 6)
If a guy can travel through time, why can he only stay 11 minutes? If you can time travel, why show only up at a wedding party to see your future wife. If you can timetravel, why making gaps in order?
So many questions, so little I care if I try to give the answer. The concept was nicely thought of, but the execution is quite boring. The director probably tried to make a vague impression on the audience so that they would have to watch the movie again in order to get it. That is not going to happen.

Cause love is the effect

This film was high on my "must see" list of this year's AFFF. Reason: the entire film was shot in one (!) day. Stunning. But would it work, or would it feel like a cheap and cheesy flic? Both, if you ask me.
11 minutes ago consists of eight 11 minute journeys to one specific place and day in the film's past: a wedding reception. This story is told in a non-chronological manner, which is part of the joy and confusion in these kind of films.
Somewhat novel is the mixing of genres: the time travel /sci-fi aspect is used as a plot device to facilitate the underlying theme and genre of a romantic comedy. So don't expect a level of realism like in Primer (the protagonist in 11 minutes ago tells people straight away he is from the future for instance!), but instead more an ode to cherish each moment in a day and the intoxicating effects of love. Not everyone in the audience fell for this by the way, I think partly because the dialogue was a bit heavy handed.
All and all definitely a film to watch by fellow indie film makers and those with a romantic heart ;-)

Love blossoms everywhere, even in non-linear 11-minute episodes

The what-if concept: what if [(possibly strange) assumption]... follow that through and see where you end up.
I like time-travelling and the playing and tweaking it allows you to do to stories. The plot of this film, guy falls in love with girl in 8 11-minute time-travelling episodes that all occur (her time) within 2 hours of the same night, is something I do absolutely not abhor.
But something was missing. The dialogues seemed a bit too contrived sometimes, particularly the ones between background-characters about love and time. More than once lines and phrases were too constrained and something in the development of the story rubbed against my sense of "rightness": I can't put my finger on it and it didn't ruin the film, but held it back from becoming "good". The means of the filmmakers were limited - it was shot on one day for example - and with that in mind the result is definitely commendable, but what was lacking all had to do with story and dialogue, and those two are not limited by physical means.
I was reminded of "Voices of a distant star", but the strong emotions that film evoked in me, did not occur here.
