description: Teenager, female teacher, ghosts, dead, body, writings, stories, relationship, nudity
(Geoffrey): (rating 5,5)
The starting movie (number 6) of total of the second day. If you have seen more ghost-horror movies, you will not find much new in this one. So there is a house with ghosts. In the past a girl got murdered, even further before, a cultist was contacting the dead. Now we have a teacher who teaches paranormal stuff and wants to believe...(sound almost like x-files) and she organizes a 'study trip to the house'. Well, here you have your cliche. Ever saw Rose Red? Very same principle, but now with a smaller team. The movie Rose Red had some real paranormal/psychic students. In this one, we have only one who joins. But is he paranormal/psyhic or not? The teacher is a attrive woman somewhere in her 30's and we have a jong troubles attractive boy/young man student. Both are single.....and have needs as well ;-)
So, what about the book of blood? Well, in the beginning you see the student being captured (looking like a zombie) with lots of writings (cuts actually) on his body. His capturer wants to know what happens. In return, he will kill the boy quickly and in stead of skin him alive. So the boy tells the story.
I have seen much worse ghost movies, specially the us ones. Probably fun to watch it sometimes in the evening. I got one good scare though, so that should be worth something ;-)
The CGI was fair, though I like the morphing between the real world and the ghost world. Perhaps a little bit old, but I still found it impressive.
